Technology firm CDEX relocates HQ to Tucson

CDEX Inc., which last month received a patent for a chemical-detection system it is marketing to the homeland security industry, is moving its headquarters in with its research and development laboratory at 4555 S. Palo Verde Road, from Rockville, Md.
As part of the move, the company is looking for a new CEO to replace Jim Griffin, who is stepping down because he did not want to relocate, although the company said he is supportive of the move. Tim Shriver is interim president and CEO.
CDEX said it expects to finish the move by the end of the first quarter.
The company develops technologies for the detection of explosives and illegal and counterfeit drugs, validation of the quality of prescription drugs and compounded medications, and detection of counterfeit raw materials and finished products. CDEX generated $178,607 in sales for the year ending Oct. 31, 2005, all from sales to hospital pharmacy customers
