With $3.82 million in second round investment funding, BioVigilant Systems is moving ahead with plans to manufacture its instantaneous microbial detection instruments for use in pharmaceutical production.
The company is now in discussions with a consortium of drug makers that includes Alcon, Amgen, Bayer, DSM Pharmaceuticals, Eli Lilly, Genentech, GlaxoSmithKline and Johnson & Johnson. The consortium is testing the detectors for use in preventing contamination at critical points in the production process.
