Ellen Hargis

, president and CEO of the Volunteer Center of Southern Arizona, was named a 2007 Director of the Year by the Organization for Nonprofit Executives in Phoenix. The awards recognize nonprofit directors who are examples in the community and are dedicated to excellence in the management and leadership of their organizations. Hargis was nominated by the Volunteer Center Board of Directors for her outstanding leadership during her tenure at the Volunteer Center.

Martín Quintanilla

, painter, will receive the 2007 Buffalo Exchange Arts Award of $10,000. Quintanilla, a native of Mexico City, came to Tucson in 2001 where he became a member of the art collective, Raices Taller. A prolific artist, Quintanilla’s work is represented in collections ranging from the Museum of Contemporary Art in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico to the Arizona State University Art Museum. Quintanilla has received numerous honors and awards and has exhibited throughout Mexico, Cuba and Arizona.

Our Family presented its Duke Duncan Volunteer of the Year Award to

, chief nursing officer for St. Joseph’s Hospital, was named a Legend in Nursing at the March of Dimes’ Nurses of the Year Awards. The Arizona March of Dimes, has only bestowed this honor once previously. She has been a nurse for 38 years and has held many positions including head nurse, a clinical specialist and director for network resources. She is also the chair of the American Heart Association in Tucson, Mentor of the Year 2005, Dynamic Duo Award winner for Community Leadership in 2005, and served on the Governor’s Task Force on Arizona’s Nursing Shortage.Lynne M. Borden, associate professor and extension specialist at the University of Arizona’s Norton School of Family and Consumer Sciences. The Duke Duncan Volunteer of the Year Award is given to an individual who makes our community a better place to live, to grow up and to grow older through volunteer effort on behalf of Our Family and its programs.Angelina Pequeño was named Realtor of the Year by the Sierra Vista Chapter of the Southeast Arizona Association of REALTORS. Pequeño, specializes in the Sierra Vista and Fort Huachuca areas, has more than ten years of real estate experience. She has been with Long Realty’s Sierra Vista branch since its 1998 grand opening.

Promotions



The Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort promoted

Bernard Garnier to food and beverage manager. Garnier previously held the position of director of fun overseeing all aspects of the resorts Desert Springs Water Oasis activities, events and food and beverage operations.

Jennifer Chenault

was promoted to enrollment director for the University of Phoenix Southern Arizona Campus. She has served as enrollment manager since 2005 and she has been with the University of Phoenix for 10 years.

Amber Pundt

is the new operations manager for Citi Cards Customer Service and Sales department. Pundt started with Citi in 2004 as a sales associate and was one of the first associates promoted to Citi’s Customer Relations Team.

Regina Fuentes

 

has been promoted to operations manager for Citibank Client Services. During her nine years with Citi, Fuentes has worked as a manager within Citiphone Client Services, Citi’s Acquisitions team, the Business Banking Client Services Group and Client Escalations Unit. Fuentes transferred from San Antonio to Tucson in 2006 to help launch Citi’s Retail group and has been a key contributor to its success in Arizona.

Stephen Wolf

joined Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, a division of Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., as a reverse mortgage consultant. Wolf has more than 25 years of financial experience. Prior to joining Wells Fargo Home Mortgage he served as the owner of Wolf Mortgage.
