The Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce named Steve Lynn and Daisy Jenkins as Tucson’s 2007 Man and Woman of the Year. Tom Roof, Jr. was awarded the Founders Award for 2007.
The Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce assumed the Man & Woman of the Year program from the Tucson Advertising Club in 1983, following a tradition established in 1952. The award program honors a man and a woman who have distinguished themselves for active support of community projects at personal sacrifice, for aiding those persons less fortunate, and for living in a manner which inspires affection, respect and admiration. The Founders Award was established by the Chamber in 1985 to augment the Man & Woman of the Year award. This separate award cites individuals who have demonstrated significant long-term community involvement and accomplishments and who have helped shape the community in a quality, positive manner.
