Space is big business
in Arizona, study finds

The space industry in Arizona generates $252 million annually and accounts for about 3,300 jobs. That’s what a first-ever study by the University of Arizona has found.

Nearly half of the economic impact – $120 million – and 57 percent of the jobs in the industry come from the UA itself, according to the study.

In particular, the research credited investments by NASA and the National Science Foundation as the impetus for the job creation.
