Gas prices headed
back up to $3 per gallon

After five weeks of moderating gas prices, they were back on the increase last week headed toward $3 per-gallon, according to AAA Arizona.

In Tucson the average price for a gallon of self-serve unleaded regular gas cost $2.894 on Feb. 21, up 6½ cents in a week. The Tucson price was among the lowest in the nation, according AAA.

Arizona’s statewide average was $2.93 a gallon and the national average is $3.086 per gallon. Arizona’s cheapest gas was in Peoria, at $2.851 per gallon, and the most expensive was in Flagstaff, at $3.082 per gallon.
