As a final show of support for Major League Baseball spring training this year, businesses are being asked help sell out the 2008 Tucson finale at Hi Corbett Field when the Arizona Diamondbacks play the Colorado Rockies.

Mike Feder is chairing the event, dubbed "Tucson Loves Spring Training" day, in which blocks of tickets are being sold to the 1:05 p.m. game on March 26.
"If you can’t attend the game, we will donate the tickets in your name to local military, off-duty public safety staff, senior groups or a charity of your choice. Not only do we need to sell the tickets, but most importantly, fill the seats," said Feder in his call to action.
The day is part of an effort organized by local businesses and officials through the Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce to try to persuade the Diamondbacks and Rockies to extend their spring training agreements here.
It is anticipated this is the final season the Chicago White Sox will come to Tucson. The team has agreed to move to a new facility due to be completed by next spring in Glendale.
Businesses wanting participate in the Hi Corbett Field sell-out event can use an order form posted at Inside Tucson Business’s website - http://www.azbiz.com. Click on the baseball icon on the home page. Businesses may also call Feder (520) 954-8803.
Prices for the ticket blocks are:
• $100 for 10 lower pavilion seats or 25 sandpile seats
• $250 for 20 upper grandstand seats
• $500 for 30 lower pavilion seats and 50 sandpile seats
• $1,000 for 50 upper grandstand seats, 20 lower pavilion seats and 50 sand pile seats plus a congratulatory public address announcement.
Tickets ordered by March 19 will be mailed or delivered.
The Metropolitan Tucson Convention and Visitors Bureau estimates spring training brings in $10 million to the local economy for each team that comes to Tucson in March.
