Tucson ranks No. 49
on Best Business list

Tucson is ranked No. 49 among the nation’s 200 largest cities on Forbes list of Best Places For Business and Careers.

Boosting that number was the region’s No. 27 ranking for job growth but dragging it down was educational attainment ranking No. 72 and cost of doing business ranking at No. 107.

Phoenix ranked 44th overall.

No. 1 in the nation was Raleigh, N.C., followed by Boise, Idaho; Fort Collins, Colo.; Des Moines, Iowa; and Lexiington, Ky. Four of the five bottom-ranked cities were in California: Stockton, Modesto, Merced and, No. 200, Salinas. The only non-California city at the bottom was Killeen, Texas, at No. 196.
