Scott McDonald joined the office of Fennemore Craig as an associate in the Business Torts and Personal Injury practice group. McDonald practices in the areas of commercial litigation, appeals and business and personal injury torts. Before joining Fennemore Craig, he served as deputy county attorney in the Pima County Attorney’s Civil Division Land Use Unit.

Awards, honors, and recognitions
Alan J. Fuerstman is the 2007 Resort Executive of the Year chosen by hospitality and resort industry leaders at the 2008 Resort Management Conference. The the award goes to a resort executive in the United States who has demonstrated superior management ability, a commitment to staff training and motivation, active participation and leadership in lodging industry association activities, support of legislation beneficial to the lodging industry, and leadership within his or her community.
Fuerstman formerly served as general manager of the El Conquistador Resort and Country Club early in his career.
Annabelle V. Nuñez, assistant librarian at the Arizona Health Sciences Library, was selected by Library Journal as a 2008 "Mover & Shaker."Nuñez recently became the liaison librarian to the UA Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health. She teaches database searching and reference management classes for public health faculty members, provides faculty and student individual consultation sessions for scholarly work, research and grant development, and offers drop-by reference services.
Luis A. Ochoa, an attorney with Quarles & Brady, was selected by the faculty of the University of Arizona College of Law as the recipient of the University of Arizona College of Law’s Distinguished Alumnus Convocation Award in recognition of his professional accomplishments and community service.
Megan Donges, project manager for Lizard Rock Designs LLC., received registration from the Arizona Board of Technical Registration as a professional registered architect. Donges has worked with Lizard Rock Designs for approximately two years.
Arizona Cancer Center researchers Anne Cress and Georg Wondrak are the 2008 recipients of the Sydney E. Salmon, MD, distinguished senior investigator award and distinguished junior investigator award, respectively. The Salmon awards recognize Arizona Cancer Center faculty members for their leadership in cancer research, grant support, publications, community service, and clinical responsibilities.
Appointments
Nova Sipe, owner of Sipe and Associates Customer Service Evaluations, was reappointed as 2008 treasurer for the International Association of Service Evaluators. The IASE membership includes mystery shopping and service evaluation companies located in the US, Canada, Hungary and Romania.
Jacque Traweek has been named General Manager at Lodge on the Desert. Prior to joining Lodge on the Desert, Traweek was General Manager at Cave B Inn, a small luxury boutique resort in Washington state.
Long Realty Sales Associate Susan Barry has been named the new President of the Long Realty Cares Foundation. A nine-year Long veteran, Barry works out of Long’s Oro Valley branch office. She has served on the board of the Southern Arizona Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation for eight years—during which time she has raised more than $1 million for research and care programs.
Elections
Stan Turney was elected to the DM 50, a select group of Tucson business and civil leaders that support Davis-Monthan Air Force Base by promoting further development and enhancing the relationships between Davis Monthan, its personnel and the entire Tucson community.
The Flinn Foundation elected Shaun A. Kirkpatrick, president and CEO of Research Corporation Technologies, to its governing board. Kirkpatrick’s company is a Tucson-based technology investment and management company with assets of more than $300 million that provides early-stage funding and development for promising biomedical companies and technologies.
