Finances are a big concern for single women looking to buy a home.
"I wanted to buy a home in central Tucson, but the prices were out of my budget," said Courtney Mosconi. "Luckily I was able to buy a great home a bit north of central Tucson."
The average income for all single women buyers is $47,300. In 2000-2003, single women spent $550 billion in real estate nationally, according to the National Association of Realtors.

The average sale price for a new home in March this year was $222,155, according to a recent issue of the Southern Arizona Housing Market Letter.
While the prices of houses and incomes vary by region and age, market trends indicate that single women are looking for smaller, moderately priced residences. In addition, the homes must be stylish and secure, according to the National Association of Realtors 2007 report.
"It was a lot of stress," Mosconi said. "It is something that a woman needs to think about for a long time and ask as many people as possible. But, I would definitely encourage every woman to own her own home."
