A Tucson Electric Power Co. hearing for a rate increase of nearly 8 percent continues this week through Thursday (July 17).
TEP and the Arizona Corporation Commission had previously reached a tentative agreement of 6 percent for the rate increase. However, rising energy costs caused TEP to raise the proposed boost.
The basic rate would be frozen for four years. TEP’s last rate hike was in 1994.
