Arizona is the No. 2 state vacation destination for the first half of 2008 based on requests for tourist information on the travel website www.vacationfun.com.
"Arizona’s location, wide-ranging appeal and successful regional outreach pushed it to the top two," said John Hudak, publisher of Vacationfun.com.

In-state and regional visitors are Arizona’s No. 1 source of visitation, according to the Arizona Office of Tourism’s official website. For fiscal year 2008, which began in July of 2007 and ended in June 2008, the tourism office sponsored 10 print campaigns, as well as additional online marketing directed at residents of Arizona, California and Nevada.
