Mark Hoffman is the new chief financial officer of Northwest Medical Center Oro Valley. Hoffman comes to the hospital from Dublin, Ireland, where he served almost four years as chief financial officer for Beacon Hospital.

Elections
Danny Gasch is the new president of the Jewish Community Foundation of Southern Arizona Board of Trustees. The foundation also elected Tom Warne, treasurer and vice president; Keri Silvyn, secretary and vice president; Deanna Evenchik, vice president; Koreen Johannessen, vice president; Myron Rottenstein, vice president; and Steve Sim, vice president. The Foundation’s 2008-2009 Board of Trustees are Dana Adler, Bruce Beyer, Harold Bongarten, Andrew Briefer, Murray Brilliant, Jennifer Cassius, Amy Charles, Larry Gellman, Gerald Gendell, Ann Goldfein, Brina Grusin, Lawrence M. Casa de los Niños elected its 2008-2009 board of directors. Those elected are: Vicki Began, president; Lisa Suarez, first vice president; Ray Magnuson, second vice president; Todd Jackson, secretary; Christopher Kelling, treasurer, and Fil Barrera, member at large. The board members for the year are: Kim Blanchard, Katherine Dykes, Bill Estes III, Ana Facemire, Dianne Grobstein, Lynn Maynard, Wendy Hendrickson, Sr. Kathleen Mary McCarthy, Christian Reaney, Moira Richards, Reneé Rodgers, Nancy Russell, Dee-Dee Samet, Sven Silberschlag, Norm Spindler, Nicole Stoops and Jennifer Waddell.
The Catalina Rotary Club elected its officers for the 2008-2009 Rotary year. Those elected are: Sam Robison, president; Barbara Kiernan, president-elect; Pete Walsh, vice-president; Sharyn Chesser, secretary; Bill Hansen, treasurer; Doug Jones and Sue Krahe, sergeants-at-arms. Board members were also installed. They are: Rodger Bivens, Jim Brown, Al Chesser, Jay Higgins, Kevin Horstman, Ned Morris, Noni O’Sullivan, Steve Pender, Ken Silvers, Lisa Stark and Bob Stofft.
The Tucson chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators elected its new Board of Directors. Those elected are: Paul Tumarkin and Elena Acoba, co-presidents; Lisa Reed, secretary; Michelle Rau, finance director; Mimi Villafañe, past president; Julie Ray, membership director; Geneva Escobedo, professional development director; and Monica Surfaro Spigelman, communications and technology director.
Awards, honors, and recognitions
Lowell Rothschild, senior shareholder and founding partner of Mesch, Clark & Rothschild, was honored by the Arizona Bankruptcy Bar Section last month for his 56 years of service and contributions to bankruptcy law in the state of Arizona. Rothschild is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy.
Dean C. Christoffel, a partner at West, Christoffel and Zickerman, was selected as the 2008 Judicial Branch Achievement Award winner by the Arizona Supreme Court for Outstanding Pro-Bono Service. This award was given in recognition of his many hours of service to the Southern Arizona Volunteer Lawyers Program, the Southern Arizona Community and contributions to improving Arizona’s judicial system.
New Hires
Breckenridge Group added two people its staff. Bryan Rollins is Breckenridge’s newest addition to their Department of Defense design studio. Most recently, Rollins worked with Gromatzky Dupree and Associates as an architect intern. Bob Hiller joined Breckenridge a second time as a designer, assigned to the Department of Defense studio. Previously, Hiller worked for Breckenridge between 1998 and 2005. Most recently, Bob was employed as a project manager for a local architecture firm.
