Lara and Justin Elliott purchased Rainbow Signs, a 30-year-old full-service company specializing in pan channel, reverse pan channel, monument, pole, and cabinet signs. The company designs and fabricates signs using LED, neon, and fluorescent illumination and creates custom banners for indoor or outdoor use. The couple moved to Tucson from Madison, Wis. to devote their energies to building and expanding the legacy of Rainbow Signs.

Awards, honors, and recognitions
Three Tucson Quarles & Brady attorneys were named in the June 2008 issue of Southwest Super Lawyers magazine as among the top 5 percent of attorneys in Arizona and New Mexico. They are Susan G. Boswell, Craig H. Kaufman and James F. Morrow. Boswell made the list for the top 50 attorneys in the state.
Patty Miller of Sunquest Information Systems received the Clinical Laboratory Management Association Member of the Year Award by the International Association of Laboratory Professionals. Miller was recognized for her efforts on behalf of the association.
Dave Hamrick, Tucson Airport Authority vice president of Operations, received the Accredited Airport Executive designation from the American Association of Airport Executives. Before joining TAA in 2007, Hamrick served as the airport director of the Corpus Christi Airport.
New Hires
University of New Mexico law student Jacklyn M. McLean was selected to join the summer associate class at Snell & Wilmer L.L.P.
C. Michael Haas has joined the staff of BodyBasics as a fitness coach. Haas focuses on weight loss, body composition improvement, and endurance sports training. Prior to joining BodyBasics, Haas held positions in sales and management and owned a small business.
Silverado Technologies hired Melinda Bacon as its business development manager. She comes to the company with over 10 years of technology sales experience including a position as the regional sales manager for Secure Computing.
Beth Hargrove joined the RealEstate.com Realtors team at their Midtown office at Camp Lowell and Swan. She has been a licensed real estate agent for four years. Deena Rickel joined the RealEstate.com Realtors team at their Northwest office at 10355 N. La Canada Drive. Rickel has been a licensed real estate agent for 6 years.
The Caliber Group hired Kathy Paxton as accounting manager. Before joining Caliber, Paxton worked as accounting manager for EXG Enterprises.
Appointments
The Arizona Deaf and Blind Children’s Foundation named Rita Weatherholt as the organization’s new executive director. Weatherholt has served as executive director of Information & Referral Services, and Junior Achievement.
Rhonda Dean, a healthcare consultant, has been appointed chairwoman for the 2008 Tucson Go Red For Women Luncheon, Nov. 21.
Bonnie Allin, TAA President/CEO of the Tucson Airport Authority, has been named chairman of the board of the International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE).

The Tucson Chinese Association has elected its 2008 – 2009 board of directors and officers. Officers elected are: David Hum, president; Patsy Lee, vice president and president-elect; Richard Fe Tom, vice president; Jason Wong, immediate past president; Susan Chan, treasurer; and Helen Don, secretary. Those elected to the board of directors include: Peter Chan, Diana Gee, Kinlen Gee, Doug Huie, Teresa Jun, Jason Kai, Josephine Lai, David Lee, Danny Leung, Larry Leung, Allen Lew, Wocky Redsar and David Tang, Jr.
