Brenda Loomis joined the International School of Tucson as head of Pre-School with responsibility for the School’s PK and K programs, state licensing, and national accreditation. Loomis comes from Wyoming where she was head of an early childhood education center.

The Tucson Urban League hired Chandra Givens and Stefan Dimmick. Givens is the human resources director for the Tucson Urban League. She has led a distinguished public sector career with the City of Chicago for over 17 years. Dimmick joined the Tucson Urban League as a network specialist.
Marie Gervais joined ABA Architects. Gervais is a LEED-accredited professional and brings to ABA experience in architectural design and project management for mixed-use commercial, residential and military projects.
The Caliber Group hired Carissa Fairbanks as office administrator. Fairbanks brings more than eight years of administrative experience to The Caliber Group. Previously, she served as the office manager for Monsoon Marketing, an event management and consulting firm.
Adolfson & Peterson Construction hired Richard Michal to direct new project development in the greater Tucson community. Michal has more than 18 years of professional experience including 11 years in the commercial, residential, industrial and institutional construction industry and seven years as an expert engineering witness in the natural gas, electricity, water and waste water treatment utility industry.
Dependable Health Services hired Margaret Nagi as the director of nursing at Dependable Home Health for Southern Arizona. Nagi worked in acute-care hospitals and pediatric care for many years before moving in 1996 to Chelsea, Mich. when she began working in home health.
Jeffrey Hurt joined Breckenridge Group’s Educational Design Studio as a drafter. Prior to joining Breckenridge Group, he worked with such local firms as Herschman Architects, Saylor-Brown Bolduc Lara Architects, Adams and Associates Inc., and Horticulture Unlimited Inc. as an Intern.
Appointments
Roxanne Housley is now the Canyon Ranch corporate vice president for sales and marketing, She has served as the interim vice president of marketing for the past seven months.
Horacio L. Rilo has been appointed professor of surgery and director of Cellular Transplantation at The University of Arizona Department of Surgery. Rilo joins the UA to establish a clinical islet transplant program to treat patients with severe type 1 diabetes or with painful chronic pancreatitis.
Elections
Kevin Heath was elected as a new member of the board of La Frontera Inc. Heath is a business banking manager for Wells Fargo.
Gordon Reynolds was elected as a member of the board of Tucson Children’s Museum. Reynolds is a senior regional investment manager for Well Fargo.
Promotions
Sam Brace is now a public relations account manager for The Caliber Group. Brace will be responsible for planning and implementing publicity, media relations, news writing, special events and public relations campaigns.
New Starts
Barbara Dolan opened 17th Street Communications. The firm will specialize in the emerging field of public involvement, which seeks to engage citizens in planning and decision-making processes from governments, businesses and other entities. Dolan serves on the Board of Directors for the Green Valley-Sahuarita Chamber of Commerce and is a coach with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training program.
