New Hires
David Godlewski joined the staff of the Southern Arizona Home Builders Association as Government Liaison. He will serve as the Association’s key point of contact on regulatory, water and technical issues with local government officials. Godlewski joins SAHBA from Lansing, Mich., where he was vice president of public affairs for The Sterling Corporation.
David Wolsky joined Sunstreet Mortgage LLC as a senior loan officer focusing on residential home loans and commercial loans. Wolsky was previously with American Home Mortgage and Charter Funding and has been in the lending industry for over 14 years.
Sherry Whetten joined ABA Architects as director of technology. In addition to her work with ABA Architects, Whetten teaches ArchiCAD User Clinics.
Promotions
Gordley Design Group Inc. promoted Cindy Klinge to serve as the agency’s vice president. In addition, Klinge retains her responsibilities as marketing and media director, a position she has held since 2003.
HORNE LLP promoted Babette Haber, Pam Raines and Greg Simmons to supervisors. Haber, Raines and Simmons serve in franchise services.
Elections
Alan Klein, General Manager of Westward Look Resort, was elected to the Arizona Hotel and Lodging Association Board of Directors. The group represents more than 34,000 rooms statewide and more than 400 members including hotels, resorts, B&Bs and related industry partners.
The Community Food Bank Board of Directors elected Kyle Cooper as a new member of the board. Cooper is the manager of the local operation center for Cox Communications Southern Arizona.
The greater Tucson chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners elected its 2008-2009 board of directors. Those elected include: Marion Hook, president; Lola Kakes, immediate past president; Deborah Alter, treasurer; Ellen Kirton, secretary and Korina Gregg, president elect. Those elected as members at large include: Mary Darling, Denise Flynn, Sharon Harn, Dianne Kelley, Denise McCreery, Deborah Muñoz-Chacon, Marilyn Speert, Christie Street, Pat Taviss and Sue Zepeda.
The Marana Chamber of Commerce elected its 2008-2009 board of directors. Those elected include: Paul Bigelow, chairman; Chuck Luhtala, vice chairman; Jeri Cheatum, treasurer; Steve Miklosi, secretary and Paul Pecora, past chairman. Also serving on the board of directors are: Scott Sleight, Shaun Fitzgerald, OK Rihl, Amber Smith, Jolene Campbell, Marsha Regrutto and Wally Smith.
The Greater Oro Valley Arts Council Board of Directors voted to accept three new members to the current slate of Board of Directors for FY 08/09. Melanie Larson, Dale Henson and Gail Munden have all been elected to the Arts Council’s Board of Directors. The new appointments will bring GOVAC’s current slate up to a total of 11 active members. Julio Galindo was also elected to the position of the Arts Council’s new treasurer.
