Cricket Communications Inc, appointed Randall McCutchan district director for Tucson. He will oversee Cricket’s operations in Tucson, including five retail stores and 39 dealer locations. McCutchan has 21 years of management experience in the telecommunications industry.
K. Hovnanian’s Four Seasons at Rancho del Lago appointed Kathy Thygersen the community association manager and Tanyia Gibson the lifestyle coordinator for the new active adult community.

Elections
Sanders (Sonny) Solot of Alliance Bank of Arizona has been re-elected as a board member of the State Land Department’s Board of Appeals by Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano. Solot’s first appointment to the State Land Department Board of Appeals was in 2001 by former Arizona Governor Jane Dee Hull. Prior to that, he served on the Arizona Board of Appraisal for three years.
Girls Inc. of Southern Arizona, a non-profit organization dedicated "to inspiring all girls to be Strong, Smart, and BoldSM", elected the following additional women to its board of directors: Carolyn Andersen, Sheila Kembel, Sara Lindenbaum and Brooke Walker.
The Tucson chapter of the American Marketing Association, elected its new members of the 2008-2009 board. Those elected are: Diane Stuse, president; Brian Woods, president elect; Doraliz Vega, treasurer; L.A. Anderson, secretary; Janelle Wilt, programs vp; Robin Helphinstine, membership vp; Megan George, collegiate vp; Sonja Brown, sponsorship vp; Pat Gallaty-Fisler, hospitality vp; Kimberly Evans, publicity vp; Nancy Jones, community outreach vp and Stephanie Boreale, past president.
The Rotary Club of Tucson elected its officers for 2008-2009. Those elected are: Charlotte Harris, president; Scott Vaughan, president-elect; Arnie Jacobsen; past president; Kathleen Kitagawa, secretary; Patrick Zumbusch, treasurer and Charles Sawyer, sergeant-at-arms. Board directors elected include: Joe Chitwood, Charlie O’Dowd, Gib Raymond, Cindy Godwin, Ken Light and Jim Lubinski.
Awards, honors, and recognitions
Personal chef Wendy Gauthier, owner and operator of Chef Chic Personal Chef Service was awarded Personal Chef of the Year by the United States Personal Chef Association. Thousands of personal chefs throughout the USA and Canada vie each year for the industry’s highest award. According to the association, Gauthier’s excellence in service and industry involvement were huge factors in the decision.
New Hires
The law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP brought on Elizabeth Fella to the Firm’s national Commercial Litigation practice.
David G. Armstrong joined The University of Arizona Department of Surgery as professor of surgery and director of the new Southern Arizona Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA) at University Medical Center and the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System. Armstrong instituted a similar program at the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago that achieved international recognition in the field of diagnosis and treatment of the diabetic foot and its related diseases/complications
LP&G Inc. hired two new employees. Nona Patrick is a public relations coordinator. Prior to LP&G, Patrick worked for Maruri Communications in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Jessica Shafer is a web coordinator. Shafer was a web coordinator at Nextrio prior to joining LP&G.
Giles Construction hired Rudy Torres as a project manager. Torres was previously at Richmond American Homes serving as vice president of purchasing.
Adecco Engineering & Technical hired Matt Stedron as a technical recruiter.
