There’s a new venue in town to watch sports. Sega Entertainment USA - think video and arcade games - has reincarnated its Game Works store at Foothills Mall into World Sports Grille. It opened last week.

This is the first World Sports Grille in the country. Sega has another in the works that’s due to open this fall in Harrisburg, Penn.

With 25 high-definition, flat-panel TVs scattered around the restaurant, this may be one of the better places to watch all of the different coverage of the Summer Olympics from China.

True to its roots, in addition to all the TVs, there are more than 50 interactive games.

World Sports Grille has both a traditional happy hour, from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m., and a reverse happy hour, from 11 p.m. - 2 a.m. Happy hours feature half-priced draft beers, well drinks, house Margaritas and appetizers.

Primavera still cooking

There are still four dinners left in this summer’s Primavera Cooks series of chef-dining events. Each year the Primavera Foundation and member restaurants of Tucson Originals partner to have chefs create and prepare a wine-paired dinner for a group of guests.

The four remaining events are Aug. 20 at the Cup Café at Hotel Congress, 311 E. Congress St.; Sept. 10 at Cuvee World Bistro, 3352 E. Speedway; Sept. 14 brunch at Kingfisher Bar & Grill, 2564 E. Grant Road; and Sept. 17 at Jonathan’s Tucson Cork, 6320 E. Tanque Verde Road. They’re all dinners except for the brunch Sept. 14 at Kingfisher.

The cost for each event is $125 per person. To make reservations or get more info, contact David Elliott at (520) 623-5111, ext. 101.

The Primavera Foundation promotes economic and social justice for all people through basic human rights, livable incomes and safe and affordable housing.

" The World Sports Grille is well worth a visit. Tbe place is awesome - with screens everywhere and fabbie games.

Amazingly the food is excellent - although when I asked the waitress who their chef was she told me that the company hired a team of restuarant consultants called The Next Idea - (www.thenextidea.net)who apparantly are considered to be the most creative and forward looking of all restaurant consultants. Anyway - you can tell the World Sports Grille menu is great, and the food really tastes great - so great job to everyone!! "
