Toros tickets go on sale for 2009 season

Season ticket packages are now on sale for the Tucson Toros’s first year as a Golden Baseball League expansion team.

The team will play 44 games and those buying VIP box seats and upper reserve season ticket packages will be among the first select their seats at an open house at Hi Corbett Field Nov. 15.

Besides the packages, the team is selling flex plans allowing fans to buy at least 20 at a discount for most home games, except for special event games or playoff games.

The public open house at Hi Corbett will be from noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 15.

The Toros are one of two expansion teams to join the 10-team Golden Baseball League next summer. The other is in Victoria, British Columbia. Continuing franchises are in Calgary, Alberta; Carson City, Nev.; Chico, Calif.; Edmonton, Alberta; Fullerton, Calif.; Long Beach, Calif.; St. George, Utah; and Yuma.
