When it comes to trying to recruit more facilities like Target Co.’s new fulfillment center now under construction on the southeast side, Tucson has some ammunition in a study done by the Boyd Co., a relocation consulting firm in Princeton, N.J.
The study ranks Tucson has having the third lowest costs in the West to operate a logistics plant. Using a variety of factors, the study came up with its rankings based on the annual cost to operate a new 500,000 square-foot facility with 225 hourly employees.
