On the other hand, if you’re looking for a new lunch option, Neo of Melaka’s has introduced a buffet. Offered weekdays, it costs $8.95 per person.
The day I checked it out, the Malayasian restaurant was featuring a noodle dish, fried rice, two chicken dishes and shrimp Lemak. Hot and sour or egg flower soup is also included.
Although I tend to shy away from buffets, the food was well presented, hot and delicious. If the buffet isn’t for you, Neo of Melaka still offers a la carte dishes at lunch time.

Rants and raves
From time to time I notice things that are different or unusual. Sometimes they’re good, other times, not so much. Thusly, I’ll pass them along in this space. This week, it’s a rant about restaurateurs and their websites.
As someone who is experienced in the industry, I understand how difficult it is to keep track of all the moving parts of a restaurant’s operations, but for pete’s sake spend a little time looking at your own website. In this the 21st century, a website is the most commonly viewed advertisement for any restaurant.
For example, this week I passed along information about two restaurants:
• Cuvee World Bistro buries its hours on its reservations page and when I checked it had not been updated to show that it’s no longer open for lunch Mondays through Thursdays.
• Neo of Melaka’s website is a counter-intuitive maze. It took me several attempts to find the restaurant’s phone number, hours and address. It turns out, you click on the “location” tab, which sounds logical enough, right? Except that brings up the name of Neo’s sister restaurant, Seri Melaka. It’s only after clicking through Seri Melaka does the user find the contact information for both locations.
