New Hires

RE/MAX All Executives hired four licensed real estate agents to the team. Those hired are: Phillip Fileccia, Valerie Carey, Eileen Herd and Bob Herd. Fileccia comes with 15 years of full-time real estate experience. Carey comes with five years of experience in real estate and many earned designations including ABR, ASR, CRS, GRI and Associate Broker. Eileen herd comes joins the firm as Valerie Carey’s assistant with more than 33 years of real estate experience. Bob Herd joined the commercial division with more than 36 years of real estate experience. Bob Herd is a published author of five real estate books and currently holds the offices of Tucson Association of Realtors vice president and 2009 president-elect.

Alliance Bank of Arizona hired Joe Snapp as vice president and senior real estate loan officer at the bank’s Tucson Swan office. Snapp will focus on commercial real estate construction, development and term loans in the greater Tucson market, working closely with developers and investors.  He joins Alliance Bank of Arizona with more than 12 years of commercial and residential real estate lending experience, most recently, with National Bank of Arizona.

Brenna Barrett is the new municipal recycling marketing representative for the Arizona market area of Waste Management Recycle America. Prior to joining WM Recycle America, Barrett worked as a Recycling Coordinator for the City of Largo, Florida, and served on the Board of Directors of the statewide recycling organization - Recycle Florida.

The Tucson Community Food Bank brought in two new staff members. Carolyn Owns joined the Food Bank a senior grant writer and Linda Hampton has accepted the new part-time position of special events coordinator.  Owens previously held consulting positions with National Student Parent Mock Election, Pima Prevention Partnership, United Cerebral Palsy and served in grant writing/development positions with Arizona Early Intervention Program, Danita Rodriguez & Associates and Native Seed/SEARCH.  Hampton previously served in positions as an extended intern at The University of Arizona, Extended University Conference Services, Exhibit Manager for the Safari Club International – Annual Conventions, and Adjunct Faculty at Pima Community College for Meeting & Convention Management. 

Barca Financial Group brought in Annie Christodoulou as a bilingual independent associate. She brings mortgage and financial advice to our clients with more than 15 years of financial experience.

Elizabeth Painter is the newest member of the RealEstate.com Realtors team in Oro Valley. Painter has experience with site sales and specializes in resale and investment properties.

Appointments

Stephen A. McCommon has been appointed the new chief financial officer of CDEX. He previously served in senior financial management at Applied Energetics Inc.

Scott H. Gan, a partner with the Tucson law firm Mesch, Clark & Rothschild, was appointed by Gov. Janet Napolitano to sit on the Commission on Appellate Court Appointments. The commission selects and refers the most highly qualified candidates to the governor for appointment to the Appellate Bench.

Elections

Nova Sipe, president of Sipe and Associates Customer Service Evaluations was reelected as association treasurer for 2008-2009 of the International Association of Service Evaluators.

Awards, honors, and recognitions

Michael McGrath, partner of the law firm Mesch, Clark & Rothschild, has been presented the 2008 Champion Award from the Tucson Urban League. The Tucson Urban League bestows the Champion Award to those who have been long time supporters of the organization. This is the first time the annual award has been presented.
