I haven’t been there yet but considering who’s behind it — Richard and Shana Oseran of Hotel Congress — this could be what downtown has desperately needed. Let’s see if there isn’t some pent-up demand that will keep the place busy for a while.
The place is supposed to be named for Maynard Dixon, an artist from San Francisco who came to Tucson for a while and has paintings in the Depot lobby and whose works are on exhibit through Feb. 15 at the Tucson Museum of Art.

Terra Cotta’s ‘Drinkin’ With Lincoln’
In these tough economic times, Terra Cotta has brought back its “Drinkin’ With Lincoln” happy hour. Lincoln, of course, is on the $5 bill and that’s what it costs to buy a classic Margarita, a glass of house wine, and mixed drinks using well brands.
Another $5 will buy a bleu cheese infused Angus burger with caramelized onions and pancetta or braised green chile pork carnitas with flour tortillas. The burger is one of the best in town and, for the money, a buy that can’t be beat these days. The normal price is $12. The carnitas are normally priced at $10.
The “Drinkin’ with Lincoln” special is available in the bar area from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Fleming’s wine dinner Tuesday
Staying in the Foothills, Tuesday (Dec. 16) Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse will host Oregon winemaker Patricia Green, of Patricia Green Cellars, for a multi-course wine dinner. It begins with hors d’oeuvres paired with sauvignon blanc and ends with with dessert paired with madeira. In between there are three courses each paired with pinot noir. Cost is $95 per person (plus tax and gratuity) and seating is limited so make a reservation.
Also at Fleming’s they’re selling their gift cards that include a $20 bonus card for each $100 purchased in gift cards. What makes this one real easy they can be bought online, as well as in person at the restaurant.
