Steve Emerine: In Memoriam

Columnist Steve Emerine, 73, died early Feb. 13 from complications following surgery.

Well-known in Tucson political and business circles, Emerine came to Tucson in 1960 as a reporter for the Tucson Daily Citizen. He was Pima County Assessor from 1973 to 1980, when he left to return to newspapering as an editor and columnist for the Arizona Daily Star.

Since 1994 he had been running Steve Emerine Strategic Public Relations and had been writing his weekly column for Inside Tucson Business since 2005.

He is survived by his wife, Claudine, and two children, Keely Mix Emerine, of Moscow, Idaho, and Edward Emerine, of Tucson.
