UMC achieves certification as primary stroke center

Published on Tuesday, May 05, 2009

University Medical Center, 1501 N. Campbell Ave., has been certified by the Joint Commission for Primary Stroke Centers as a certified primary stroke center.

The commission awarded the hospital its gold seal of approval after surveyors conducted an on-site review in February.

The commission’s certification is based on guidelines for stroke care from the Brain Attack Coalition and the American Stoke Association.
