UPH to add 19 physician residents in July

Published on Wednesday, May 13, 2009

University Physicians Hospital, 2800 E. Ajo Way, is adding 19 physician residents in July.

Many of the new physicians were recruited through the National Residency Matching Program, which matches graduating medical school students with residency positions across the country.

The University of Arizona and UPH Hospital Graduate Medical Education Consortium now offer four residency programs at University Physicians Hospital. These include internal medicine and psychiatry as well as two new programs, ophthalmology and neurology. The programs focus on rural and underserved areas of Arizona and supplement current residency programs at the UA’s College of Medicine.
