Published on Monday, July 06, 2009
Tucson-based language services company CyraCom and the University of Arizona’s National Center for Interpretation are collaborating in the development of advanced curricula in an effort to provide local interpreters with advanced and comprehensive training in the field of medical interpretation.
CyraCom provides scholarship funds to the center to enable local interpreters to attend its week-long Medical Interpreter Training Institute this month. Employment opportunities at CyraCom are also presented to all graduates of Center programs. This collaboration represents a first step in an ongoing effort to broaden opportunities for interpreters working with both organizations.
A recruitment reception will be held from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. July 15 in Room 350 of the Modern Languages Building, 1423 E. University Blvd. on the UA campus. For additional information, contact Armando Valles, assistant director of the National Center for Interpretation, at (520) 621-3615 or Jonathan Levy at CyraCom at (520) 745-9447, ext. 1697.
