Bashas' files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization

Chandler-based Bashas’ Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization Sunday (July 12). The company and all of its operating entities -- including Bashas' Food Stores, Food City and AJ's Fine Foods -- are seeking to have the case administered joined by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Arizona District.

Founded in 1932, Bashas’ operates more than 150 stores, nearly all of them in Arizona.
