The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona elected new Board of Trustees officers and members. The new officers are: Paul Lindsey, chair; Thomas Warne, first vice chair; Megan Davis, second vice chair; Carrie Brennan, secretary and Jerry Miron, treasurer. The new board members are: Lawrence M. Hecker, Marian C. LaLonde, Don Luria, R. Michael Sullivan and Roger Vogel.
Bill Carnegie, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Community Food Bank has been re-elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Arizona Food Banks. He will serve a second one year term. The Association is a support organization serving its six members regional food bank warehouses and a network of more than 1,600 food pantries and agencies in Arizona.
The State Bar of Arizona Board of Governors selected five board officers for the 2009-2010 term. Of the attorneys selected from all over the state, Amelia Craig Cramer, chief deputy Pima County attorney was selected to be the second vice president. The other officers include Raymond A. Hanna, president, Prescott; Alan P. Bayham, Jr., president-elect, Phoenix; Joseph A. Kanefield, first vice president, Phoenix; and Whitney Cunningham, secretary/treasurer, Flagstaff.
The Foothills Sertoma Club elected its new 2009-2010 officers and board members. Officers elected include: Christina Frey, president; Robert Offret, vice president sponsorship; Ed Lochhead, vice president fundraising; Dani Zaleski, vice president membership; Gary Oschmann, secretary; Joe Higgins, treasure and Burke Carroll, immediate past president. Board members elected include: Ryan Horn, Jennifer Carroll, Greg Baker, Gary Holland, Scott Caddow, and Patrick Randles.
The Tucson Symphony Society Board of Trustees has elected Erwin D. Kratz as president and Barbara Levy as president-elect.
New Hires
Suzanne Startt joined Grubb & Ellis Company as a property manager. In this role, Startt will be responsible for managing approximately 900,000 square feet of the company’s three-million-square-foot Tucson management portfolio. Prior to joining Grubb & Ellis, Startt was a senior property manager at Bourn Partners LLC, where she was responsible for approximately 1 million square feet of property.
Jill Sweet is the newest interior designer for Aviar Commercial Space Planning and Design. Sweet completed her Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from The Art Center Design College, graduating this past May. She was previously in the Air Force for 22 years.
Michael F. Kelly joined Hollingsworth Law Firm as an associate attorney. Kelly will concentrate his practice in personal injury, medical malpractice and wrongful death. Previously, Kelly was a deputy county attorney for the Pima County Attorney’s office for five years.
Kari Schlachtenhaufen joined The University of Arizona Department of Surgery as its first director of development. She is responsible for designing and managing the department’s long- and short-range fundraising strategies. Schlachtenhaufen has 30 years of experience in the non-profit sector.
Appointments
Carol Gregorio is the newly appointed head of the Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Gregorio served as interim department head since 2008.
