J.C. Flowers is the new vice president of revenue cycle and managed care services for Carondelet Health Network. Flowers joined Carondelet Health Network in 2007 and served as director of Managed Care Services. In his new role, Flowers will oversee managed care, reimbursement audit, charge master distribution, patient admitting and patient financial services.

The Catalina Rotary Club installed its officers for the 2009-2010 Rotary year. Elected officers are: Barbara Kiernan, president; Pete Walsh, president-elect; Jim Brown, vice-president; Sharyn Chesser, secretary; Kathy Ramert, treasurer and Rodger Bivens, sergeant-at-arms. TAMA, the Tucson chapter of the American Marketing Association, is proud to announce the 12 members of its 2009-2010 Board. New Hires

Jeff Stanley joined Allstate Financial Group as a personal financial representative.

Darren M. Clausen joined The Moore Law Firm as a partner in the firm. Clausen brings 10 years of experience in the practice of medical negligence, catastrophic injury and general personal injury cases.  He is BV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating available to young attorneys.

Rayann Coffman joined STG Design as a senior interior designer to lead their newly formed interior design department. During her 18 years in the field, she has planned and designed over a million square feet including the corporate offices of Grubb & Ellis and Time Warner, Baylor University and Del Webb Sun City Georgetown.

Appointments

Ken Marcus is now the park director for the University of Arizona Science and Technology Park. As the park director, Marcus manages the daily operations, tenant services, lease negotiations, risk management and compliance activities for the UA Science and Technology Park. He continues to serve as the chief financial officer. Marcus has worked for the Park since 1999.

Roy G. Farrell, M.D., joined Carondelet Health Network as chief medical officer for Carondelet Holy Cross Hospital. It is a newly created position at the hospital and Farrell is the first to assume the role. Farrell comes to Southern Arizona from the Puget Sound, Washington area, where he served as the Medical Director for Group Health Hospitals in both Seattle and Redmond.

Five associates of STG Design have passed the U. S. Green Building Council’s LEED-NC accreditation exam. The associates, now LEED accredited are: Leon Westerbeck, Miguel Urcadez, Larry Gotkin, Fernando Hinojosa and David Lefton.  Tucson-based STG Design, with offices in Austin, Houston and Nashville, has set a company-wide goal that all design associates must be LEED accredited by the end of 2009.

John Kettelle, M.D., assistant professor of clinical surgery in the Department of Surgery at The University of Arizona College of Medicine, is the new University Physicians Hospital chief of staff. He will serve a one-year term in the position.

Marlon A. Guerrero, MD, is the new assistant professor of surgery at The University of Arizona Department of Surgery in the College of Medicine. He will direct the department’s new Endocrine Surgery Center at University Medical Center.

Awards, honors, and recognitions

The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) has honored Alejandro Angel of Psomas with its ITE Western District Young Professional Achievement Award for members under 35 years old. Angel was selected for the award because of his “exceptional dedication to the transportation profession” through his contributions and service. Angel is the leader of Psomas’ traffic engineering team in Arizona.

The Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce named Robert D. Ramirez, president and CEO of Vantage West Credit Union, its 2009 Businessman of the Year. Ramirez has worked in the credit union industry since 1985, and has served in his current position since 2000. The Businessman of the Year honor is based on hard work, business achievements and dedication to the community.

Don Drysdale, principal of Drysdale Valuation PLLC, received the Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) for business valuation, issued by the American Society of Appraisers. The accreditation means Drysdale is recognized as one of the most qualified and experienced business valuation professionals.
