The Muscular Dystrophy Association promoted two of its staff. Stephen Evans has been named vice president of finance. Evans previously was director of finance for the Association. Keith Boesen is the interim managing director of the Arizona Poison and Drug Information Center at The University of Arizona College of Pharmacy. Boesen worked at the Arizona Poison and Drug Information Center as an intern from 2000 to 2002, and has worked there as a certified specialist in poison information since 2002.

Gloria White is the new business development director for the northern Pima County Chamber of Commerce. White has been involved with the Northern Pima County Chamber of Commerce, actively volunteering on the Membership Ambassador and Events Committees, for the last several years.
Marcy Kline is the new president of Tucson Realty & Trust Co. She has more than 17 years of property management experience and 12 of those years were previously with Tucson Realty & Trust Co. Prior to her appointment she founded and operated her own firm.
The Southern Arizona Buffelgrass Coordination Center appointed Lindy Brigham as its first executive director. Brigham comes to SABCC after 12 years at the University of Arizona as a plant pathologist and, most recently, directing a Professional Science Master’s in Applied Biosciences program.
Elections
The Pima Council on Aging elected it new board officers and members. Officers elected include: Alan I. Levenston, chairman; David Updegraff, first vice chairman; Leslie Hunter, second vice chairman; Jessie Pergrin, secretary and Michael Daranyl, treasurer. New board members include: Jacob Bernal, Robert Herman and Mark Neal.
The Easter Seals Blake Foundation elected a new slate of officers and members for its board of directors. Officers elected include: Betsy Bruce, president; Nancy Olney, vice president; Edward Leyba, treasurer and Brent VanKoevering, secretary. Members elected include: Danny Blake, Linda Fiore, James Maina, Patrick Farrell, Paul Serra, Chris Carroll, Barbara Carroll, Paula Perrera, Andrea Islas, David Perez, Susan Rubin, David Montijo, Corey Williams, Mary Ann Penczar and Jane Gaver.
The United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona elected new officers and members of its board of directors. Officers elected include: Ron Sable, chairman; Larry Finuf, chair elect; Steve Banzhaf, secretary/past char and Christine McNamara, treasurer. Newly elected steering committee members include: Mike Jameson, campaign chair; Christine McNamara, finance chair; Jean Tkachyk, audit and ethics chair; Norm Rebenstorf, human resources chair; Rosalva Bullock, community impact council co-chair and Bennett Burke, community impact council co-chair. Members elected to the community advisory board include: Lynne Wood Dusenberry and Martha Furnas. New members of the board include: Lou Albert and Dennis Elias.
The Women’s Foundation of Southern Arizona elected a new chair and new board members. Sarah Meadows is the new chair of the board. The new members include: Stephen Cornell, Mary Keane, Clyde Kunz, Antje Lear, Maria Lopez, Nancy Weeks and Dari Zwart.
The Tucson Sunrise Rotary elected its new executive board members. Those elected are: David Eppihimer, president; Leslie Lynch, president-elect; Steve Marten, secretary and David Wolsky, treasurer.
Dale F. Regelman of Quarles & Brady was re-elected to the executive council of the Intellectual Property Section of the State Bar of Arizona as well as president of the Arizona Law Review Association. Regelman is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group.
Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities, Inc welcomed three new members to the board of directors. The new members include: Christopher Clements, Hany Massarany, and Dennis Minano. Ray Bargull also joined the board, but as the representative of the Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.
New Hires
Janet Holmes joined Nova Financial Services as a financial planner. She has more than 20 years of experience in financial planning and management.
Anoma Phanthourath joined the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy to direct development and advancement efforts, including major gifts. Previously, Phanthourath practiced commercial litigation at several large Phoenix law firms and most recently was a partner at the Shughart Thomson & Kilroy firm (now Polsinelli Shughart) in Phoenix.
Suzanne Mellion joined EXIT Realty. She previously worked with Long Realty.
Awards, honors, and recognitions
The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research named Dee Alfson the 2009 Outstanding Customer Service Representative of the Year for the state of Arizona. Alfson was selected for having demonstrated outstanding service and professionalism within the insurance community. She has been working in the industry since 1985 and has worked with GBP Risk Solutions since 1999.
