That was just one piece of good news at the fourth annual luncheon Oct. 29 for Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities (TREO). Last fiscal year, TREO worked on efforts that created more than 1,600 new jobs with a local economic impact of $268 million. Most significantly, 78 percent of those jobs were in higher-wage industries.
Further, Joe Snell, president and CEO of TREO, announced the formation of a new initiative specifically targeting entrepreneurs and growing local companies by tapping more venture capital, strengthening incubation efforts and improving technology transfer.
