Isaac Rothschild joined Mesch, Clark & Rothschild, P.C. as an associate attorney in the firm’s bankruptcy and estate planning sections. Rothschild served as a law clerk for the Federal District Court Judge Collins Chambers from 2007 to August 2009, and prior to that was an assistant in the legal department at Tucson Medical Center.
Cristina Salazar and Angelica Fimbres joined Ludwig Klewer & Co. PLLC. Salazar joins the tax division and brings more than five years of experience in public accounting as a tax specialist. Fimbres joins the audit division with experience in non-profit auditing and consulting.

Hadley Swain Kirkland joined Grubb & Ellis Company as an associate with the industrial group. Prior to joining Grubb & Ellis, Kirkland served two years as a real estate analyst of Columbus Nova Real Estate Acquisition Group, a corporate real estate investment management firm. In this position she was responsible for the management of a portfolio of assets valued at $125 million.
Awards, honors, and recognitions
Dr. Stephen H. Wright, professor in the Department of Physiology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, is the recipient of this year’s Faculty Science Forum Founders Day Award. The Founders Day lectureship was established in 1979 to recognize and honor College of Medicine faculty for their scientific accomplishments. The recipient of this award is a faculty member who embodies a model of an investigator whose research work has a continuous thread of significance and who can effectively present that research with enthusiasm, vigor and inspiration.
Dr. Christopher Cunniff, a professor in the University of Arizona College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics and researcher with the Steele Children’s Research Center, received a five-year $1.25 million surveillance grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to study the prevalence of fetal alcohol syndrome in children. The project, named “Arizona Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Surveillance Network” will study fetal alcohol syndrome prevalence in Arizona and Nevada.
Dr. T. Philip Malan, professor of anesthesiology and pharmacology and vice dean for academic affairs at the College of Medicine, is lead author of the study, “CB2 cannabinoid receptor mediation of antinociception” which was named as one of the top cited papers for Pain magazine during 2006 to 2008.
Stephen L. Bahill and Jon E. Sams, military veterans were inducted by Governor Jan Brewer into the Arizona Veterans’ Hall of Fame Class of 2009. Bahill and Sams were the only two veterans from Tucson inducted. Since its inception in 2001, 203 Arizona veterans from all professions and branches of the service have been inducted to the Hall of Fame.
New Launches
Christine Glanz, owner of Computers Etc., is starting a Computer Talk Show called “Online with Christine and Bob.” The show airs every Saturday on KVOI 1330AM from 11 a.m. to noon.
