Foreclosures still flood housing market; October new home permits slip

Despite the extension of the new home buyer’s federal tax credit, it is becoming more apparent that foreclosures are too deeply entrenched in the housing market to be resolved in the foreseeable future. The latest housing data indicates it could take up to three more years to sort through the problem.
